This year’s Secret Gardens event once again proved to be a blooming success, raising an impressive £3,865 for local good causes.
Visitors enjoyed the opportunity to explore 16 beautiful gardens across Wotton-under-Edge, each with its own character, planting style and hidden surprises. From colourful flower beds to peaceful corners and expertly maintained borders, there was plenty of inspiration for keen gardeners and casual visitors alike.
The event was about much more than gardens. Along the route, visitors were able to stop for refreshments and homemade cakes, making it a wonderfully social occasion and a chance to catch up with friends while enjoying the best of Wotton’s green spaces.
The popular plant and book sales also proved a hit, with many visitors leaving not only with ideas for their own gardens, but also with a few purchases tucked under their arms.
Events like Secret Gardens are only possible thanks to the generosity of those willing to open their gardens, the volunteers who help organise everything behind the scenes, and everyone who comes along to support the day.
A huge thank you to all involved. By opening gates, baking cakes, volunteering time and visiting the gardens, you helped raise valuable funds that will support local community projects and good causes.
