This year’s 10,000m Under the Edge was a fantastic day, with 256 runners taking to the start line to challenge themselves while helping raise vital funds for Great Western Air Ambulance.
The runners may have been the stars of the show, but they weren’t the only ones enjoying the occasion. Wotton Lions mascot Roary was delighted to make a new friend, Charlie Bear, who quickly became a favourite with runners and spectators alike.

Before the race, Charlie joined Roary in helping participants warm up and get ready for the challenge ahead. Throughout the morning, the pair could be spotted encouraging runners around the event, offering high-fives, plenty of smiles and a welcome boost of motivation when it was needed most.
Of course, no event would be complete without a few photographs, and Roary and Charlie happily posed for pictures with runners, volunteers and supporters throughout the day. Judging by the number of selfies taken, they may have been almost as popular as the finishers’ medals!

The day was a wonderful celebration of community spirit, bringing together runners of all ages and abilities in support of a fantastic cause. From first-time 10k runners to seasoned veterans, everyone played their part in making this year’s event such a success.
A huge thank you to all 256 entrants, our volunteers, supporters and, of course, Roary and Charlie Bear for helping create such a memorable day.
